Over the years, I have received many requests to simplify our pro-ration schedule for per diems&daily housing allowances.
I’m happy to announce that our payroll department can now pro-rate daily per diems and allowances based on the number of hours you work in a week! The new system is a straight forward, hourly pro-ration.
For example:
5 day per diem @ $39 per day = $195 weekly per diem
$195 divided by 40 hours per week = $4.875 hourly equivalent
If someone is in a speech language pathology job for 38 hours per week, she will receive 38 hours x $4.875 = $185.25 If this speech language pathology professional works 40 hours, she will receive the full $195 weekly per diem
Another example:
7 day per diem @ $39 per day = $273 weekly per diem
$273 divided by 40 hours per week = $6.825 hourly equivalent
If one of our physical therapy assistants works 38 hours, she will receive 38 hours x $6.825 = $259.35. If therapy assistants
work 40 hours, they will receive the full $273 weekly per diem.
