Last week, I saw a website from a new competitor who said they were radically different than other staffing companies.
They offered contract Allied Health jobs like MDI Medical, but they said they had no recruiters and very few internal office employees. And they were proud of it. Their message: by providing a lower level of service, they can pay more money.
I wondered: Who sorts through hundreds of jobs to find the perfect assignment for you? Who sets up housing? Who sends your license verification and other credentials to the client? Who do you call if the assignment isn't what you thought it was? Or if the client tries to call you off early? Or if you're lost on the way to the client site? Who is your career advocate for assignment after assignment?
Call me crazy, but keep the extra 50 cents per hour, and give me a company that stands behind me. A company that goes the extra mile. A company that treats their therapists as well as their office employees. Or better yet, find me a company that will give me the best of both worlds: good money and great service.
Traveling and contract work is hard enough, even when you have a great company by your side. I couldn't imagine doing it on my own.
What do you think? What level of service do you expect from your staffing company? When you're looking for rehab jobs, how involved do you expect your recruiter to be?
